Kung Fury movie full length review - This could be one of the funniest things you've ever seen, as well as a real blast!

Okay so this crazy-ass mini movie was one I that found to be phenomenally entertaining and spot-on. It was like the perfectly epic lost 80s grandslam movie that never was!

More satire than spoof, I thought it was so skillful at what it was trying to be and the kinds of classic themes and nostalgia it was trying to encapsulate. It somehow made those beloved old clichés seem fresh. And it was smarter than it seemed at first glance to, it didn't just play the obvious jokes and created a fantastical hyperthrilling world of its own. It so beautifully represented what a lot of movie lovers love about the 80s: the style, the music, the lingo! That was especially amazing to me, how they maintained that tone and kept up the hilarious vernacular without any of it feeling forced or obnoxious, and it really doesn't grow lame or lag once. The moment you look at it, you just get it. As soon as I heard the music I started grinning and I didn't stop till it was over. The numerous movie references were wonderful, I loved the way it had no regard at all for realism or of taking itself too seriously. There were so many dazzling and lovably ridiculous sight gags in it, laser raptors, Hitler shooting the stressed out police chief through the phone line, Thor's hammer time!!! A dinosaur cop why not!? Triceracop was so cute and polite! I loved the deliberately laughable effect of the Viking Age's giant wolves - still so much more impressive than the ones in Twilight! The rampaging arcade machine robot with a bad attitude is a breathtaking sight to behold, he was mean to puppies! And the CGI of the T-rex and the golden Nazi eagle was quite excellent, the eagle looked almost real. Such an unexpected and hysterical moment when the damn T-rex talks at the end! One of my favourite parts of it was the sensational animated sequence that sees Kung Fury demand of his spirit guide thingy that he be released from death after earlier falling in hectic battle to Hitler's Gatling gun! It really did take me back to the lost wonders of cartoons like the Thundercats and such. The guy who played Kung Fury was perfect in his delivery, and I think that's what resonates with it the most, just seeing a character like that kicking ass, because hey to this day you watch a movie and you see a bad ass, it's still universally cool to see someone do it with that kind of larger-than-life swagger! Of course it does help if you've got a fondness for this kind of thing, but do try and seek this doozy out immediately because oh my f*****g god, is it awesome!!! It was great to see something as well done as this take a loving look back on that genre. "game over!"
