Undercover cop Lucas White joins Vin Serento's LA gang of illegal street racers. They are fast and they are furious and they plan to double cross LA crime kingpin Juan Carlos de la Sol who hides his cash in a downtown Taco Bell. The gang's outrageous plan is as daring as it is ridiculous and will see them towing the whole damn restaurant, at crazy speeds.

Superfast! movie full length review - Only Friedberg & Seltzer could miss an open goal opportunity like the F&F franchise

I'm no fan of Friedberg and Seltzer, other than some parts of Date Movie, I find their inability to compose a suitably funny comedy in the comedy genre as ironically laughable.

Yes, the guys that just don't get it, are back with another "F*** You".

And like their previous movies, I won't actually rate them until i've had the misfortune of actually watching them, and unfortunately for me, that misfortune appears to have come along much swifter than I anticipated, and I wasted time watching it.

So, 'story'. Its basically all the Fast & Furious movies condensed into one 'parody' movie, but obviously minus car stunts, minus overseas locations, minus star actors, minus the bits you actually would want to see.

I'll give them props for one thing, the actors. OK, i've never heard of any of these guys, but one or two did alright with what they had.

The guy who was riffing on The Rock, if there was any real comedy to had from any of the characters, he was it, but sadly, Friedberg and Seltzer never allowed him to get further than The Rock imitating head movements and excessive close up shots of Baby Oil.

And therein lies the problem with Friedberg and Seltzer and their insistence in persisting with a genre of comedy they have absolutely ZERO ability in.

When the Zucker Brothers did the Airplane! movie and the Hot Shots movies, they had rules, i.e. have lots of sight gags, but don't draw any unnecessary attention to them.

Gags were supposed to be fleeting, i.e. if you missed it, hard luck, but don't worry, because here comes another scene thats probably got 5 or so sight gags as well as the nonsense being spouted by the actors.

When your only sight gag is Baby Oil, WE DO NOT NEED A CLOSEUP OF A BOTTLE OF BABY OIL TO GET THE F*****G JOKE YOU MORONS!!!!! And typically, thats how all the sight gags play out.

There is one positive to be had though. Remember previous Friedberg and Seltzer movies where random characters would pop up on screen, announce themselves either vocally or with a T-shirt saying who they were... or both? Appears Friedberg and Seltzer have come to a mutual understanding with the rest of the world.

i.e. That s*** ain't funny.

What irritates me more about this pair of miscreants is that they needed to crib off 6 F&F movies to be able to create their one 'parody', and other than largely getting the actors right, there's not much else they did.

You see, the later F&F movies don't take themselves completely seriously, with what sounds like ad libs by the actors making it into the movie, especially The Rock and Tyrese Gibsons banter.

I'm not sure how you can parody that or try and make a joke out of Baby Oil, when in the very movies you're cribbing off, they make a joke out of Baby Oil.

I wasn't expecting to be surprised by this movie, but what I am surprised in is why people keep giving Friedberg and Seltzer money to make movies in a genre that they have single handedly turned toxic.

Superhero Movie was actually quite a funny parody movie, but Friedberg and Seltzer have crushed the parody genre of comedy so much, that most people just avoided it.

In the right hands, just about any movie can be parodied and made fun of. Certainly the F&F movies have provided plenty of hours worth of stuff to use, and yet Friedberg and Seltzer couldn't manage it..... again! All too sad, all too familiar, I might as well just copy and paste previous reviews, I mean, if Friedberg and Seltzer are going to phone their movies in, why should I expend more effort slagging them off?
